I joined the StarShine team two years ago. My unique background includes 8 years in various business roles including management and ownership as well as both a degree in Psychology/ Sociology, and several years of teaching/mentoring to high school youth in the Phoenix area. The combination of business and counseling has provided me with the belief that if the mind, body and spirit of each of our children are properly trained and nurtured, every student will be capable of success in today's world. Here at StarShine, I have been blessed to use both of my strengths working with the administration team and the teaching staff. During my first year here, I saw the need for extra math preparation for our high school students in order to create success on the AIMS HS exam. All students who participated in one of my classes last year improved their score and all students who took both of my classes passed the exam. This is what StarShine is all about - replacing fear and frustration with success.

StarShine Academy is the necessary future for our schools. There is an obvious success in the STARSHINE focus on the "whole child". As SSA grows and expands, I see the future of all schools changing and implementing a more holistic view on students and education. My dream for SSA is worldwide expansion of this philosophy to offer this success to children in all areas of the world, regardless of race, religion, or social status.
